Why are you applying for this course? 

It is an opportunity to be mentored by the some of the biggest names in the industry. Why would I want to miss it? 

If you could work for any brand or type of client, who would it be and why? 

I would love to work for a social campaign. It is challenging and exciting at the same time to put up our own creative spin on an issue which has probably been done countless times 


Find a good print ad.

It is simple, it is direct, it communicates the brand well. On top of that, it intrigues our mind about the literal meaning of ‘social network’.


Find a bad print ad.

The typography is not easily legible and the picture does not convey any message.

Here is my take on the ad:


Using pen and paper only – no computer layouts – create an ad for the following brief.

Product: Health Promotion Board.

Goal: Get people to stop smoking.

Proposition: You get more out of life if you don’t smoke.

Product: The Strait Times. (offline edition)

Goal: Get people to subscribe to the offline edition.

Proposition: Mornings are not the same with the Strait Times.

(it’s a TVC)

Product: Levi’s.

Goal: Get people to buy them.

Proposition: We invented jeans.
